PROJECT X is an espresso and coffee blend created for Sawada Coffee and Hiroshi Sawada by Metropolis Coffee Company. Starting from samples of beans Hiroshi roasted for his Tokyo cafe, and working in secret (Code Name: “Project X”), Metropolis fashioned a blend that seamlessly recreated not just the flavor of his classic Japanese style, but also its intent. Excellent in drip, in French Press and iced.
A friend gifted me a bag of this coffee, otherwise I never would've purchased, because, you know, I have my favorite go-to, found after years of coffee sampling. But one day when running low on the standard, I tried this instead. Whoa! Best coffee I've ever had. However one defines "smooth," this is the smoothest. Like silk. Like velvet. No aftertaste. My new favorite. I gift it forward all the time.
After 2 years, still is still my go to dark or semi dark roast!
